Combatting the UHE

Combatting Food Insecurity Caused by the UHE

In our solution we propose changing housing structure and creating community garden initiatives to combat the UHE. Our community garden initiatives would greatly reduce the effect of the UHE but keyly would also reduce the food insecurity caused by it. This would be caused by two key factors.

  1. Commmunity garden initiatives would reduce the effect of the UHE. They would provide vitally needed vegetation which would absorb heat.

  2. Community garden initiatives would provide more food, reducing the cost of food. By growing veges, fruits or other foods in these gardens and equitably distributing them our initiatives would effectively reduce the cost of food. This would allow more people to afford food even if they had less work.

Combatting the Effect on Animals caused by the UHE

Our proposals to housing can have a hugely positive effect in our fight against the UHE. Along with creating more space efficient housing we can also create more sustainable housing. One key component in this is creating animal friendly housing. We can create housing which has been designed to provide animals with habitats. This has the dual effect of increasing vegetation within cities which reduces the UHE. Creating green architecture is an underexplored area in todays world which we plan to expand upon greatly.

Combatting the Effect’s to Temperature

Our community garden and housing initiatives have a hugely positive impact on the temperature changes caused by the UHE. By greating these green areas and condensing housing we have a few key benefits in relation to temperature.

  1. Reduce surface area of concrete, metal and other heat absorbing materials.
  2. Increase surface area of vegetation.

As you can see our projects help resolve all of the key factors contributing to the UHE. We effectively kill two birds with one stone in our projects greatly reducing the effect of the UHE.

Combatting Other Negative Effects of the UHE

One other negative effect of the UHE is damage to air quality. This is greatly reduced by our plans. The huge increase of plants naturally helps to regulate air quality increasing quality of life.
